SoftPasses International Announces The First Commercial Application of Its SoftPass™ Peer Activated Software Services Solution

SoftPasses International announces the general availability and the first commercial application of its unique SoftPass peer activated software services solution for P2P software licensing.

TORONTO, CANADA - July 11, 2002 – SoftPasses International Inc. (SPI), a subsidiary of Parallelspace Corporation, today announced the general availability and first commercial application of SoftPass, SPI's unique peer activated software services solution for P2P software licensing.

"In April, to meet the unique needs of Groove developers, partners and end users, Parallelspace created SoftPasses International to develop, market, license and support the SoftPass™ family of solutions for Peer Activated Software Services.” said Michael Herman, president of SoftPasses International Inc. “Today, we are especially excited to have SoftPass software activation technology ship with every copy of the general release of Parallelspace eMail 1.2."

Users and developers of today's decentralized business collaboration solutions face a fundamental problem: "If a group of people are licensed to use a particular peer-to-peer business collaboration solution, how can they spontaneously invite additional people to join in and use the same business collaboration software?"

Traditional software purchasing and licensing solutions work against the spontaneous need for people to quickly and efficiently organize themselves into cross-organizational collaborative teams.  SoftPass addresses this business need in addition to embracing traditional software licensing and activation models.
